Amlodipine besilate
Indications/Uses
HTN, angina. Prophylaxis of chronic stable angina pectoris.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult, elderly & patient w/ renal impairment 5 mg daily, can be increased to 10 mg once daily. Patient w/ hepatic impairment Adjust dose.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to amlodipine or other Ca antagonists. Patients w/ cardiogenic shock; aortic stenosis; unstable angina. Woman of childbearing potential. Pregnancy & lactation.
Special Precautions
Patients who had a heart attack; in hypertensive crisis. Patients w/ hepatic impairment. Not indicated for use in childn.
Adverse Reactions
Headache, dizziness, somnolence, palpitations, flushing, abdominal pain, nausea, oedema, fatigue.
